This book will be confusing unless you first read Sea Witch. It’s about mermaid witches and an octopus witch and some human witches fighting the Germans and also patriarchy above and below the sea during WWI. There is romance in the story but the book is not a romance. Like Sea Witch, Rising is a hot mess, and, yet, also like Sea Witch, I just gotta have it. Sea Witch Rising is the sequel to Sea Witch, which was a very loose retelling of The Little Mermaid with an impressive twist. ![]() Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy, Young Adult ![]() ![]() ![]() When she meets and plays with Brice at the club, she doesn't know he's a detective. He's angry at himself, and is feeling way to raw. The pieces are there and he can't fit them together. It contains an interesting plot, believable characters, and some scorching sex scenes.īrice Marshall is a homicide detective, he's great at his job but his latest case is giving him trouble. I am pleased to report that Lainey delivered BIG TIME with Brice's book. ![]() There was just something about Brice that hooked me and I knew, just knew that his book was going to be beyond amazing. A descendant of the Scottish earl to whom the prince gave the hilt, narrator Alexander Kinloch lives in an unelectrified bothy in the Scottish mountains, supporting himself through his paintings. ![]() The ""hilt"" of Francis's delightful 35th thriller refers to the jewel-encrusted, solid gold handle of the ceremonial sword of Scotland's would-be king, Bonnie Prince Charlie. ![]() ![]() ![]() This was an extra special book being a Mainer as there were several places that were brought up that I know. The blood is flowing and there just isn’t enough rain to wash these back roads clean. This is not just another werewolf story with a small town in terror on the night of the full moon, but a werewolf story done so well that it feels fresh and exciting. A creature that will have you simultaneously jittery with the brutal and merciless bloodshed and upset as someone you liked was just torn in half. ![]() (Oh, but you should leave, and quickly) Blood And Rain is one of those books, not only does it grab your attention from page one, but it brings you face to face with a powerful beast.
